Student Visa Subclass 500 & Guardian Visa 590

The Student visa allows eligible international students to study with an Australian education provider. A successful application requires more than an enrolment. Applicants must satisfy the visa criteria and provide evidence appropriate to their circumstances.

A Strong Student Visa Application Should Address:

  • ✓ A valid enrolment and Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) where required.
  • ✓ The Genuine Student requirement.
  • ✓ Financial capacity where evidence is required.
  • ✓ English language requirements where applicable.
  • ✓ Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).
  • ✓ Previous study and immigration history, and the logic of the proposed course.

Important Strategy Note

For applicants from Iran, careful explanation of study history, career direction, funding and the reasons for choosing the proposed course and provider can be particularly important. The application should be accurate, coherent and supported by credible evidence.

Subclass 590

Student Guardian Visa

The Student Guardian visa may allow a parent, custodian or eligible relative to accompany and provide care for an international student who is under 18, or in limited circumstances an older student who requires support due to exceptional circumstances. The guardian must satisfy the relevant requirements and make appropriate arrangements for dependants who are not travelling with them.
